Terms of Use
Application: My LifeVault (Android) · Publisher: VMH Digital · Contact: [email protected]
Effective / Last Updated: July 28, 2026
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form an agreement between you and VMH Digital ("we", "us", "our"), the developer and publisher of the My LifeVault Android application (the "App") and of this website. By downloading, installing or using the App, you confirm that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, please uninstall and stop using the App.
Your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Where the App connects to Google Drive, Google's own terms and privacy policy apply to your Google Account and its contents.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old — or older, where your country requires a higher minimum age for digital consent — and legally capable of entering into this agreement. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf. The App is intended for managing your own household's records and those of family members whose information you are legally entitled to hold.
3. Licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use one copy of the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal and household purposes. This licence does not transfer any ownership to you.
4. Your content and your responsibility for it
Everything you add to the App — scans, PDFs, family profiles, medical entries, notes, tasks and reminders ("Your Content") — remains yours. We claim no ownership of it, and because it is stored on your device we have no access to it and no ability to moderate, restore or inspect it.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to store the information you enter, including the personal and medical details of other family members. You agree not to use the App to store material that is unlawful in your jurisdiction, or to store or process other people's personal data in a way that breaches applicable privacy law.
5. Backups — please read carefully
My LifeVault stores Your Content locally on your device. We do not host it. As a result:
- You are solely responsible for making regular backups — either by exporting the encrypted backup file to a safe secondary location (a PC, an external drive, or a cloud folder), or by enabling the optional Google Drive backup feature.
- If your device is lost, stolen, damaged, reset or wiped and you have no backup, Your Content will be permanently unrecoverable. Uninstalling the App also deletes its local data.
- We have no access to your backup passwords or PIN codes and cannot reset or recover them. An encrypted backup whose password has been forgotten cannot be decrypted by us, by Google, or by anyone else.
6. Optional Google Drive integration
The App offers an optional feature that stores an AES-256 encrypted backup file in your own Google Drive so you can restore your vault on a new or reset device. By enabling it you acknowledge that:
- the feature is entirely optional, requires your explicit authorisation through Google's consent screen, and can be disconnected at any time in the App's Settings or at myaccount.google.com/permissions;
- backup files are stored in your Google Drive account and count towards your Drive storage quota — they are not stored on any server of ours;
- the App's access is limited to files it created itself, as described in our Privacy Policy;
- availability of the feature depends on Google's services, your internet connection and your available Drive storage, none of which are under our control;
- we are not responsible for loss of a backup caused by changes to your Google Account, exhausted Drive storage, Google service outages, or your deletion of the file.
7. Advertising, premium features and purchases
The free tier of the App is funded by advertisements served through Google AdMob. You agree not to interfere with, block within the App, or artificially interact with those advertisements.
Premium features may be offered as one-time purchases or subscriptions, sold and processed exclusively through Google Play Billing. All prices are shown in the App before purchase. Refunds, cancellations and subscription renewals are handled by Google Play under Google's payment policies — please use the Google Play refund process or contact Google Play support; we cannot process refunds directly. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Google Play account settings. We may change premium pricing or the composition of premium features prospectively; changes will not affect a purchase you have already completed.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or attempt to derive the source code of the App except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law; remove or alter any proprietary notices; copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent or publish the App or its assets; circumvent licensing, purchase verification or advertising mechanisms; distribute modified builds of the App; or use the App to do anything unlawful.
9. Intellectual property
The App, its source code, design, user interface, graphics, icons, website layouts, documentation, and the "My LifeVault" and "LifePulse" names and logos are owned by VMH Digital and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in section 3 are reserved. Third-party components used in the App remain the property of their respective owners and are used under their own licences.
10. Not professional advice
My LifeVault is a record-keeping tool only. The health journal, medical summary PDFs, family medical fields and reminder features are provided for your own organisational convenience. They do not constitute medical, legal, financial, immigration or insurance advice, are not a medical device, and must not be relied upon for diagnosis or treatment decisions. Always consult a qualified professional, and always verify a document's actual expiry date with the issuing authority rather than relying solely on an in-app reminder.
11. Reminders and notifications
LifePulse reminders are scheduled locally by your device. Their delivery depends on your operating system, notification permissions, battery-optimisation and power-saving settings, and whether the device is switched on. We cannot guarantee that any reminder will be delivered at a particular time, or at all, and you should not depend on the App as your only means of tracking a critical deadline.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. In particular we do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that OCR text extraction will be accurate, that notifications will always be delivered, or that generated PDFs will be accepted by any third party.
While we use industry-standard encryption, the security of Your Content ultimately depends on factors outside our control, including the integrity of your device's operating system, the presence of malware, whether your device is rooted, and the strength and secrecy of your passwords.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-excludable statutory consumer rights you may have.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VMH Digital and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the App — including damages resulting from data loss, database corruption, failed or missed expiry reminders, unsuccessful backup or restore, device failure, loss or theft of a device, or unauthorised access to your device.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the App shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50.
14. Third-party services
The App uses third-party services and components including Google Play services, Google Play Billing, Google AdMob, Google ML Kit and (if you enable backup) Google Drive. We are not responsible for those services' availability, performance, terms or privacy practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
15. Updates, changes and availability
We may release updates that add, modify, or remove features, and we may discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We will give reasonable notice on this website or in the App's release notes where a change materially reduces functionality you rely on. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated App.
16. Termination
You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms. On termination, sections 4, 5, 9, 12, 13 and 17 survive. Termination does not delete Your Content from your device — you control that.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above indicates the current version, and material changes will be posted on this page and referenced in the App's release notes. If you continue to use the App after revised Terms take effect, you accept them; if you do not accept them, please uninstall the App.
18. Governing law and severability
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at VMH Digital's place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the competent courts of that jurisdiction shall have jurisdiction over any dispute — except where mandatory local consumer protection law entitles you to bring proceedings in, or rely on the law of, your country of residence. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force, and the unenforceable provision will be applied to the maximum extent permitted. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding the App.
